Japanese vinyl: Live + One 1980 Live EP. 3 live tracks plus "Women In Uniform" single.

In 1980 the Japanese guys released the first iron Maiden live EP. Its called, Live Plus One and it was recorded live at Marquee Club, London, in July 1980. The live tracks are: Sanctuary, Phantom Of The Opera and Drifter, it comes also with the single Women In Uniform, this one is not live. The sleeve is awesome, its a photo taken at one those early shows at Marquee, probably from this show ( Maiden in 1980 gave several shows at Marquee Club along the year). The back sleeve is so marvelous, its a very coloured Eddie from the first Maiden album artwork. The vinyl comes also with the Japanese lyric and credits sheet. The artwork on the label its the same on both sides.
My particular copy is missing the OBI strip but I don't care, it would had cost much more money, and I'm not into that OBI stuff, its not important if it doesn't brings that.
For the ones who don't know there is a Greek version of this vinyl released instead in 1985 , but is so poor and without any interest...The photo is fading, the contents is just a poor compilation of Maiden Japan live EP from 1981 and Live Plus one. Brings nine tracks, all the Maiden Japan show, all the songs from Live Plus One and Prowler taken from Iron Maiden first album. The Drifter song ends, imagine, FADING... !! Brings also a sticker with the names of the songs in Greek. In my opinion its not worth to have this Greek edition, I had one and sold it on Ebay, to me is crap! The only one worth to have is this one you guys are seeing here, THE JAPANESE ONE, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Japanese vinyl: Somewhere In Time 1986 studio album.Special edition with 16 pages book, 7' inch vinyl with interview, sticker and a poster.

Other colossal Japan edition for Somewhere In Time LP in 1986.Its fantastic, really. It comes with a four page insert colour sheet with the lyrics , credits etc, a poster with a photo taken In Nassau, Bahamas during the Powerslave album recording in 1984, a special 16 page colour book full with spectacular photos, a 7' inch vinyl side A and B called: "Iron Maiden On Their Own Words", which is an interview to all band members. This vinyl is funny because the sleeve opens from the left, very unusual! The vinyl has also a 4 page insert sheet and some information in Japanese. My particular copy is missing the OBI, which is nothing, and the sticker which, again, its nothing, is just the Iron Maiden logo in yellow letters, nothing important.

Japanese vinyl: Stranger In A Strange Land 1986 12' inch single. Special etched vinyl with tour poster and lyric sheet.5 tracks.

Spectacular, marvelous, outstanding this 12' etched vinyl released just in Japan 1986.Its really a great and one of the last cool vinyl releases made in Japan. It comes with a lyric and credits insert sheet, plus a poster with the Japanese 1987 tour dates and Eddie artwork. The sleeve is from tick cardboard with the OBI strip, and finally, but not least, the spectacular etched vinyl saying: Iron Maiden Somewhere on Tour 87 , around the vinyl on both sides.
The photo on the back sleeve was just included on this edition, I think all the other world editions have a live photo taken from backstage. Songs are: Stranger In A Strange Land and Juanita on side A , Reach Out, Losfer Words ( Big 'Orra) Live at Hammersmith Odeon 10/1984 and Sheriff Of Huddersfield, a song dedicated to the manager and friend Rod Smallwood, on side B.
Please see the photos to believe, its amazing.

Portuguese vinyls: Iron Maiden 1980 studio album. Black vinyl. 8 tracks.

Wow!! I'm very proud to show you guys the Portuguese pressing of the very first Maiden album. The album has some differences in terms of the colours that were used and the label is completely different from other countries editions. This LP is in top condition and I tell you guys that here in Portugal is very difficult to find a copy like this one.
Iron Maiden was released in 14/04/1980 and entered straight to the number 4 in the UK top chart.
This album is one of my favourites, I mean, don't get me wrong, I love them all, but this one is very special.
Now, for you compulsive out there, the vinyls that you see here in this particular section were just the ones pressed in Portugal , no more no less. I also think that there isn't any Portuguese cassettes and Cd's. Sure there isn't VHS or Laser discs, so, take my advice and sleep well 'cause you will not find more editions from my country, if you don't understand , well...that's 'kin bad ain't ya? Ehehehh...

Portuguese vinyls: Killers 1981 studio album. Black vinyl. 10 tracks.

Still looking for a good copie.

Portuguese vinyls: The Number Of The Beast 1982 studio album. Black vinyl. 8 tracks.

Fantastic album, my top one favourite!
The Number Of The Beast was released in 29/03/1982 and entered straight to number one in the UK top chart, wow!!!
This is the Portuguese pressing and the only difference I notice is that the inner sleeve is not rounded on the corners like the UK one. The photos and stuff is the same, no extra tracks also. The photos on the inner sleeve are from The Beast On The Road 1982 World Tour.

Portuguese vinyls: Run To The Hills 1982 7' inch single, black and white photo on the back, only country who make it like that.

Yeahhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Oh yes, boys and girls, its now a reality, the super rare Run To The Hills 7' inch Portuguese pressing is in my collection since this very day. Portuguese pressings are very difficult to get a hold on and specially in this condition, the sleeve is almost new and so the vinyl, wow!!
I bought this one at Ebay and I have to spend a lot of money, this time I wouldn't allow that a foreign took me away this baby, I'm from Portugal and this edition means a lot to me, I'm not a compulsive collector who wants to have all the editions of this and other planets, and then, they put things on a shelf and don't touch it for the rest of their lives, at least I play them, no no, this time would be a Portuguese to win this,'kin bad!!!
You are looking to the pictures and probably saying: "hey, this one is different". Well, it really is boys and girls, on the back cover the photo ( this photo was used in every edition), is in black and white, only Portugal did it in this way. Its the first photo Bruce took with the rest of the boys some minutes after is audition, you may notice that they already were having a few pints to celebrate, crazy bastards, eheheheh...
The sleeve is from a thick paper, I was very impressed with this, top quality, opens from right and the label is a traditional Portuguese label, yellow background with black writings and EMI red logo.
Songs are:
Side A: Run To The Hills, album version.
Side B: Total Eclipse.

Portuguese vinyls: Piece Of Mind 1983 studio album. 9 tracks. Black vinyl.

This boys and girls is the Portuguese pressing of 1983 studio album Piece Of Mind.
This pressing is a bit rare because, as we all now, the last track of this album is To Tame A Land, inspired in a book, Dune, written by Frank Herbert. The guys asked him permission to use the name of the book as the title for one song but the fuckin bastard refused!! SO, they just changed the song name, BUT, at the time, the album was already on the factory to be pressed, and, if I'm not mistaken just in Portugal and Italy they didn't had time to change it and it was always pressed with the Dune title instead of To Tame A Land. This is the story! You can click on the photo to enlarge and see more closely this great detail.
Piece of Mind was released in 16/05/1983 and reached the number 3 in the UK top chart.
