Special magazines, 100% Maiden: a brief introduction.

Magazines are a great way to collect photos and also huge information about our beloved band. If we are going to expect Ross Halfin photo books is better we sit and wait...
This is one part of my collection that I have a great proud because some of the mags here are great in terms of photos and some of them very very hard to find, even on Ebay, you have to look on several Ebay countries in a regular day basis.You won't believe this but in September 2006 I had at that time just four our six mags, now I have 52, just 100% Maiden, which is what I like most. At this time I simply can't afford to buy mags just for two or five pages, its very expensive and there are some things more important still missing in my collection. Even so, this ones here are some of the most interesting and rare, I have to say that are still three or four special mags missing me, at least from the ones I know they exist, but with time I will have them all, believe me guys.

Special magazines, 100% Maiden: Billboard 1985 special Iron Maiden issue. 36 pages.

Guys, this is one of the most rarest and unseen mags about our boys.
Its a special Billboard supplement with 36 pages from 1985.
The main propose of this magazine was to give to everyone who worked with Iron maiden until that time a chance to say a big thank you for such successful 5 years. Everyone, from travel agencies, truck companies etc ,gave to Iron Maiden a big thank you and wished more and more good business years to come.
Its really great this mag, the photos are well known but is very very interesting, at least for me!
Another funny detail is that this mag was sold to me on Ebay by a guy from the USA rock band Mastodon, eheheeheh!!!!

Special magazines, 100% Maiden: Billboard special issue from May 2008. 41 pages.

This is the second time that Billboard magazine release a special issue 100% dedicated to Maiden, first time was in 1985 and is posted here in this section. But was the first time in the history of this mag that they honour Maiden altering the mag font style and putting it with the Maiden font, wow, top this Metallica!!! Eheheheheh!!!
The mag is great, basically it a mag with loads of thanks from every most persons and companies that worked with them over this 30 years. It brings loads of paintings of French artist Hervé Monjeaud, and also some good reviews and a great interview to Bruce.
There is a list of apparently , every Maiden gig since 1980, but those dates were based on the tour programmes info, and as you guys know when tour programmes are made dates are still being added to the tour, in the majority of the cases they always have just the first four or five months. It annoys me a lot because the persons who are going to read it are going to think that Beast On The Road 1982 had just fifty something gigs, as well as the Seventh Son tour 1988 with just 41 dates ( strange because on the tour programme all the dates of the tour are there) and Ed Hunter Summer tour 1999 with just 12 dates, don't understand how this mistakes can happen, especially because this mag was elaborated with the help of bands management, Phantom Music Management Ltd.
Forget this last sadly details and buy this mag, its very interesting.

Special magazines, 100% Maiden: Sonido. Mexican magazine from 1986 or 1987? 29 pages colour and black and white.

Great this special issue from Sonido, Mexican magazine published in 1986 or 1987, I'm not sure, doesn't say, probably the first issue released in Mexico about Maiden.
The mag has very known photos but its still very interesting due to the age, some 3 photos that I'd never saw, very coll item to have.
The magazine is very interesting because the text is just interviews made to all band members along 29 pages where they talk about what they did in their 6 month period vacations after the World Slavery Tour, so its not about their history etc, very interesting indeed.

Special magazines, 100% Maiden: Album Rock, special mag from Chile made in 1992. 28 pages all black and white.

Another extremely rare South America magazine. This one was made in Chile in 1992 to be distributed in Argentina.
Its very interesting , for the ones who , like me, love this kind of material, although it doesn't bring much photos. Even so, I will keep it because is also one of the most unseen mags, even on Ebay.

Special magazines, 100% Maiden: Gigantes. Argentina magazine from 1986. 41 pages colour and black and white.

This one is fantastic, probably one of the most rarest mags in the world, even on Ebay is not easy to find it.
The mag was made in 1986, has the Maiden history, of course, and some very interesting photos along 41 pages.
I have to say that this mag cost me a real bargain!!

One of the first ever Maiden special magazines published by Sounds UK in 1983.
As always we get the Maiden history through the years with fantastic photos in colour and black and white along 48 marvelous pages.

Spectacular this UK magazine, talks about Maiden history until 1985. Has 24 pages full of nice colour and black and white photos. FANTASTIC!!!

Fantastic this special issue from UK magazine Starblitz back in 1988.
Iron Maiden history with many photos.
This one is also very hard to get a hold on.

Another great special and very hard to find this one. Fantastic photos from our boys, yeahhhh!!!!
Brings also a special poster.

Another great mag written this time by the rock journalist Garry Bushell.
A great read with fantastic photos along his 36 pages.

Special magazines, 100% Maiden: Access All Areas, UK magazine from 1990. 30 pages.

Spectacular this UK magazine Access All Areas from 1990. This mag talks with the Maiden crew members about the problems on the road in all the different countries. Has also great photos along 30 pages.

Special magazines, 100% Maiden: Spanish Rock Sound from year 2000. 68 pages.

Great this special issue from Spanish Rock Sound magazine. One of the great things about this mag is that is brings the same stuff from the French special issue Hard N' Heavy from 1998 plus a update until 2000.
Has great photos inside along 68 pages.

Special magazines, 100% Maiden: Rock Stars. Mexican magazine from 2006. 34 pages.

Outstanding this Mexican issue from Rock Stars magazine released in 2006. The printing and paper quality are 99.9 % top .
Has great but very known photos along 34 pages.

Special magazines, 100% Maiden: La Mosca En La Pared. Mexican magazine from 2005 with superb 34 pages.

This is really an outstanding issue from a great Mexican mag called La Mosca En La Pared released in 2005 with the band history and a review of Dance Of Death 2003 studio album.This magazine is a real lesson of how it can be made a great mag. The photos are very well known, but the printing and the quality of the paper are so awesome as well as the design with great colours for the background, that we almost forget that we've seen this photos thousands of times. You guys must have this mag, seriously!
