12' collection: Sanctuary 1980 live EP. Black vinyl, 4 tracks. Holland pressing.

This is a great artwork to have in 12' inch format.
This is really a live EP released in Holland in 1980. There are just 2 live tracks from the show on April 3th that year on Marquee Club, London.
This copy is signed by Dave, Steve and Adrian but its not visible in this photo.

Songs are:

Side A: Sanctuary and Prowler, album version
Side B: Drifter and I've Got The Fire live at Marquee Club, London, April 3th 1980.

Cat.nº: Holland 1A K 052Z-07390

12' collection: Women In Uniform 1980 single in black vinyl. 3 tracks. UK press.

Women In Uniform Was released in 27/10/1980 and reached the number 35 position in the UK top chart. It was the first single being released in 12' inch format in UK.

Songs are:

Side A: Women In Uniform
Side B: Invasion and Phantom Of The Opera, this last one live at Marquee Club, London, July 4 th 1980.

Cat.nº: UK 12 EMI 5105

12' collection: Women In Uniform 1980 live EP single in black vinyl. 3 tracks. German pressing.

Still to this day I don't know if this was the Women In Uniform single released in Germany with this different cover or if its really a German live EP. If you guys could send me some information about this I will appreciate that.
The songs are really taken from the official singles so the only thing extra that you have with this edition is the super cool front and back sleeve, nothing more!
Be aware that this sleeve is also made from that shit thin paper, when you buy one ask the seller to put the vinyl out of the sleeve to prevent cuts.

Songs are:

Side A: Women In Uniform, album version
Side B: Drifter and Phantom Of The Opera live at Marquee club, London,I think in April 1980

Cat.nº: Germany 1c 06207418 yz

12' collection: Live + One 1980 live EP released in Japan. 3 live and one studio track.

Live Plus one was a EP released in 1980 in the Japanese market.
Consists in a 3 live tracks recorded at Marquee Club, London in July 1980, plus the Women In Uniform song, studio version, not live, I think Maiden never played this last track live.
The front sleeve is a photo from a gig in Marquee Club and comes with a special Japanese sheet, in one side is the Women In Uniform single artwork with lyrics in Japanese and English and we also have the Maiden album photo discography, the other side of the sheet is Japanese information and a live photo.
The back sleeve is awesome!!
In Greece, they released this EP in 1984 or 1985, I'm not sure, but its a shit edition. The photo on the front sleeve is a bit fainted and extra songs included are just taken from Maiden Japan EP plus Prowler from the first studio album. And more, on the Drifter song they faded it in the end, avoid that edition , it has nothing of interest.
Songs are:
Side 1: Sanctuary and Phantom Of The Opera live
Side 2: Driter live and Women In Uniform, single version.

12' collection: Twilight Zone 1981 single in black vinyl. 2 tracks. German pressing.

Twilight Zone was the first single from the 1981 Killers album.
Released in 02/03/1981 reached the number 31 position in the UK top chart.
I love this sleeve!!
On the back there is a band promo photo. This is the German pressing and was only released there in 12' inch format, there is no UK 12' press for this single.

Songs are:

Side A: Twilight Zone, album version
Side B: Wratchchild, album version

Cat.nº: Germany 1c 052-070462 yz

12' collection: Maiden Japan 1981 live EP in black vinyl. 5 tracks, the extra track is Wratchild. USA pressing from Capitol Records.

This Maiden Japan live EP was really a demand from the Japanese guys. They wanted something live from the band because Maiden were getting bigger and bigger over there. And so it was made!!
The EP was released in most countries with just 4 live songs but on the USA market they put there an extra song, Wrathchild. I simply love this record!!
In UK it was released in 14/09/1981 and reached the number 43 position.
There is a Maiden Japan Venezuela with a different sleeve making the rounds on web stores and auctions but that pressing is from 1987!! Be careful guys, I'm almost 99.9% sure that one is a bootleg. They released there with that different artwork but in 1981, Steve Harris words, read an interview which came on the fan club magazine issue nº80. Steve said they sent faxes to every EMI offices in order to cancel that edition but he was very surprised when he knew that in Venezuela they didn't care and keep that alternative artwork.
Before you guys give ridiculous amounts of money for that issue check the date of release, it can't be 1987!! Why that year? Later I will make a post with some thoughts about this matter.

Songs are:

Side A: Running Free and Remember Tomorrow
Side B: Wrathchild, Killers and Innocent Exile

Cat.nº: Capitol SQ 15017

12' collection: Run To The Hills 1982 single in black vinyl. 2 tracks. German pressing.

Run To The Hills was the first single from The Number Of The Beast album. Released in 12/02/1982 reached the number 35 in the UK top chart.
On the back sleeve we have a promo band photo, the first photo shooting session with Bruce. There is also all the German dates .
This german editions are a pure shit!! The sleeve is from a very very thin paper, if you don't store the vinyl with careful there will be cuts, put a strong cardboard plate inside the plastic sleeve, that will prevent bad things!
For the ones who don't know this single was released in this 12' format just in germany and Peru.

Songs are:

Side A: Run To The Hills, album version
Side B: Total Eclipse

Cat.nº: Germany 1c k 052-07604 z

12' collection: The Number Of The Beast 1982 single in black vinyl. 2 tracks. Holland press.

The Number Of The Beast was the second single from that album. Released in 26/04/1982 reached the number 18 in the UK top chart.
The album was a major sales success worldwide, in fact was their first album to enter straight to number one in UK, which gave them the ability of making more and more big stage productions.
I simply love this 12' inch, this artwork on this format is absolutely killer!!

Songs are:

Side A: The Number Of The Beast, album version
Side B: Remember Tomorrow live in Italy *

*This song was not actually record live with Bruce in Italy. Bruce had just joined the band and so they needed something for a B side, what they did was just put the Bruce voice in a live recording with Paul, Bruce just sing on the studio and make some stuff to imitate a live performance.

Cat.nº: Germany 1c k 052-07721 z

12' collection: The Trooper 1983 single in black vinyl. 2 tracks. German press.

The Trooper, song released in 20/06/1983 that reached the number 12 position in the UK top chart.
This 12' inch is a German pressing, there was a gap between 1980 and 1984 on the UK 12' inch releases, so, if you want to have all the collection in this format you have to have this German pressings that are a real shit because the paper is so thin, if you don't have very careful the sleeve will suffer cuts and a lot of bends. Take my advice and put a plate of cardboard inside the plastic sleeve, that will help prevent the bends.

Songs are:

Side A: The Trooper, album version
Side B: Cross Eyed Mary

Cat.nº: Germany 1c k052 1077646

Side B: Rainbow's gold and Mission from 'Arry

Cat.nº: Germany 1c k 062 2002896

Second single from the tremendous 1984 studio album Powerslave.
The song was released in 22/10/1984 and reached the number 20 position in the UK top chart.
The artwork for this single is one of my favourites.

Songs are:

Side A: Aces High, album version
Side B: King Of The Twilight and The Number Of The Beast Live

Cat.nº: UK 12 EMI 5502

12' collection: Running Free Live 1985 single in black vinyl. 3 tracks. UK press.

Running Free Live single was released in 23/09/1985 and reached the number 19 position in the UK top chart. Was to promote the very first Maiden live album , Live After Death.
The front sleeve is just a live photo, first time they didn't put Eddie on a cover.
All the royalties from the sales of this single were given to a anti-heroin campaign.

Songs are:

Side A: Running Free live at Long Beach Arena, California, March 1985
Side B: Sanctuary and Murders In The Rue Morgue recorded live at Hammersmith Odeon, London, October 1984

Run To The Hills was the second single taken from the Live After Death album and was released in 02/12/1985 reaching the number 26 position in the UK top chart.
Great cover, one of my favourite artworks.
Songs are:
Side 1: Run To The Hills live at Long Beach Arena, L.A. March 1985.
Side 2: Phantom Of The Opera and Losfer Words ( Big 'Orra) live at Hammersmith Odeon, London, October 1984.
Cat.nº: UK 12 EMI 5542

12' collection: Wasted Years 1986 single in black vinyl. Tour dates on the back. 3 tracks. UK press.

First single from the great 1986 studio album Somewhere In Time.
Was released in 06/09/1986 and reached the number 18 position in the UK top chart.
The artwork is great, on the front sleeve I risk to say that are elements from Back To The Future supersonic car, look at those dates and stuff and then see the movies.
On the back sleeve there is some tour dates, a band promo photo and a very funny portrait of Rod. On this single they've put a new song called Sheriff Of Huddersfield in honour of Rod, which was a kind of a joke because he was living at that time in L.A. and was getting very lazy...read the lyric of the song, eheheheh!!!

Songs are:

Side A: Wasted Years, album version
Side B: Reach Out and Sheriff Of Huddersfield

Cat.nº: UK 12 EMI 5583

12' collection: Stranger In A Strange Land 1986 single in black vinyl. 3 tracks. UK press.

This Single was released in 22/11/1986 and reached the number 22 position in the UK top Chart. Was the second single taken from the album Somewhere In Time.
Its a normal sleeve, on the back there is a live photo.

Songs are:

Side A: Stranger In A Strange Land, album version
Side B: Juanita and That Girl.

Cat.nº: UK 12 EMI 5589

12' collection: Stranger In A Strange Land 1986 single. Special etched disc. Complete with tour poster and OBI strip. 5 tracks. Japanese press.

Fantastic is what I can say about this edition. Its a special etched vinyl with writings on both sides saying: " Iron Maiden Somewhere on Tour '87".
Comes with a poster with the Japanese dates of the Somewhere In Time world tour 1986/87 and the tour book artwork. This edition has 5 tracks and I would consider this more a kind of a EP. This Japanese press brings as always a sheet with band album discography and lyrics in Japanese and English.
Very Cool to have this edition not just by is beauty but also for the song " Sheriff Of Huddersfield, which is a song dedicated to Rod Smallwood, band manager.
Songs are
Side A: Stranger In A Strange Land, album version and Juanita.
Side B: Reach Out, Losfer Words ( Big 'Orra) Live at Hammersmith Odeon in October 1984 and Sheriff Of Huddersfield

The Evil Than Men Do was the second single from the 1988 studio album Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son. It was released in 01/08/1988 and reached the number 5 position in the UK top chart.
This was really the beginning of the more elaborate 12' inch single releases, before that they just came in a regular sleeve. This one is great because its a two sided poster sleeve with great pics from the Seventh Son tour and the Donington festival in one side , and on the other the official Doninton poster.
The other interest about this single are the two new studio versions of Prowler and Charlotte The Harlot 88 with the Bruce voice on it.

Songs are:

Side A: The Evil That Men Do, album version
Side B: Prowler 88 and Charlotte The Harlot 88

Cat.nº: UK 12 EMS 64

The single was taken from the VHS live video Maiden England , released that same year.
This vinyl just plays in one side , the B side is etched with all the band members signatures. Comes in a two sided poster sleeve with marvelous photos from the Seventh Son World Tour 1988. Phenomenal edition!!

Holy Smoke was the very first single taken from No Prayer For The Dying 1990 studio album.
The single was released in 10/09/1990 and reached the number 3 position in the UK top chart, wow!!!!
This edition is also a great one, brings a massive one sided tour poster with the artwork of the sleeve, on the poster there are the dates of the mini UK Intercity Express Tour during September/ October 1990, a kind of warm up tour to get in touch with the new guitarist Janick Gers, and also some dates of the No Prayer Tour in December that same year.

Songs are:

Side A: Holy Smoke, album version
Side B: All in Your Mind and Kill Me Ce Soir

Cat.nº: UK 12 EMP 153
